LGBTQIA+ Career Exploration Program

In Summer 2022, I served as the teaching artist and LGBTQIA+ cohort leader for the Seattle Parks & Rec Career Exploration Program. This program allowed me engage with young Black and Brown Queer teens ages 14 - 19 3 days per week for 7 weeks.

The day would involve Queer discussions, art projects, meditation and outdoor exploration, volunteering, and field trips to various museums (MoPop, Frye Art Museum, etc.), the Beacon Food Forest, & The Seattle LGBTQ+ Center to name a few.

What I love most about being a freelancer is having intersections between the multiple organizations I support. In the video, the Career Exploration teens had an opportunity to explore the drum, dance, and other percussion instruments.
